President

The President shall:

  1. Preside at all meetings and act as ex-officio member of all committees except the NominatingCommittee. The President, however, shall not be a voting member except in those cases where a tie vote occurs. In such instances the President may elect to cast the deciding vote or postpone, deferring action until a consensus can be reached by regular voting members,
  2. Appoint, with the approval of the ExecutiveCommittee, all chair persons,
  3. Be responsible for the composition and printing of the annual letter to members, brochures with membership rosters, with the assistance of the ExecutiveCommittee,
  4. Set meeting dates,
  5. Provide a list of procedures formulated by each officer and chairperson for the edification and use of incoming officers and chairpersons,
  6. Appoint special committees, as needed,
  7. Generally supervise the activities of the association.

Also, the President

  • Is the Master of Ceremonies at the Concerts.
  • Names a nominating committee. This should be done right away as they must be approved at the meeting prior to the annual dinner.
  • Appoints board members to committees and positions.

The following tasks are normal tasks of the President:

  • Provide a "President's Letter" to the Women's Committee, due this year by June 15th.

  • Write a letter of appreciation to the Four-Points Sheraton for the use of the space for our meetings.
  • Creates a letter to go along with the mailing in each campaign letter.
  • Creates a letter to go along with the tickets when they are sent out.
